SUMMER

Running
The Leutasch Valley is a trail running paradise. At an altitude of 1150m above sea level, the air is crisp and clean. The flat valley bottom allows for easy scenic jogs, whilst the hills and mountains that sweep up from the valley floor offer infinite opportunities for undulating trail runs, or hardcore mountain running. Our apartments contain information on possible running routes for all levels.

Walking

The wonderfully unspoilt Leutasch Valley offers countless options for beautiful walks, from gentle strolls to strenuous mountain hikes. Whichever you pick the scenery is always breathtaking. Paths are well marked out, easy to follow and accessible from right outside Happy Mountains holiday appartments.

Nature lovers will especially enjoy walking in the crisp clean air, looking at alpine flowers and listening to birdsong, bees and cow-bells. Deer, chamois and alpine squirrels are commonplace but if you are lucky, you may also spot marmots, pine martens and eagles.

When you are ready for a break there are plenty of welcoming wayside huts offering hearty traditional food and wonderful cool beer or mulled wine to refresh and revive you.

Maps and suggested walks are available in all apartments and we are happy to recommend our favourites.

Cycling
There are ample opportunities for both road cycling and mountain biking for all levels.  A favourite of ours is to meander along the unspoilt traffic-free Gaistal Valley.

Cycle hire available in Leutasch.
Garage available for bike storage.

Swimming
Wonderful swimming, sauna and spa available year round in the Alpenbad. 15 minutes walk/ 2km. Entry is free to our summer guests.

Or why not try alfresco swimming in beautiful clear lakes such as the Möserer See or the Ferchensee/Lautersee. (15 minutes drive/9km).

Climbing/ Via Ferrata
Plenty of options in the surrounding area for both climbing and Via Ferrata. Via Ferrata (Klettersteig in German) are scrambling routes with fixed cables. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Via_ferrata

In the wider area there are even more outdoor opportunities, such as fishing, bungee, canoeing, horseriding, golf, paragliding, summer alpine coasters And much, much more.

This is Leutasch, what are you waiting for?
